Are you passionate about financial stewardship and community impact? Do you have basic accounting skills and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization? The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas (GGAA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Volunteer Financial Secretary to join our national leadership team.
This is a vital volunteer role for a responsible individual committed to transparency, accountability, and excellence in financial management. The ideal candidate will work closely with the financial team (headed by the National Treasurer), and the National President, to help GGAA achieve its goals with fiscal integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the organization’s financial records, including receipts, disbursements, and documentation of dues, donations, and contributions.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in collaboration with the Treasurer.
- Ensure proper accounting practices and accurate financial statements.
- Support the Treasurer in developing and refining the organization’s annual budget.
- Provide necessary documentation to assist internal and external audit processes, as directed by the National Board.
- Monitor the financial performance of the organization and offer written advisories to the Treasurer and President.
- Maintain strict adherence to GGAA’s financial protocols and policies.
- Safeguard financial data by ensuring no financial document is released without the explicit approval of the Treasurer and President.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (volunteer or professional experience)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial software, spreadsheets (Excel), or accounting platforms
- Good communication and reporting skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
