President Samuel K. Doe’s Statue and Park
Background
Dr. Samuel Karyon Doe’s Statue and Park to be located in central Zwedrue City, Grand Gedeh County, will serve as an historic commemoration as well as a reminder of the presidential leadership of the late president who was captured and brutally murdered. It is up to our generation as Grand Gedians to remember our leaders with a sense of pride and there is no one who properly deserves to be awarded a national monument and recognition than President Samuel K. Doe.
Objectives
❖ This statue is to inscribe our history and destiny into the hearts and minds of all Grand Gedians both in Liberia and around the world.
❖ This statue will increase tourism in the county which would spur economic growth.
❖ This is a testament that GGAA is ready to undertake major developments in Grand Gedeh County hence forth.
Scope
This project will be a park with the bronze statue in the middle. The park will have walking paths, sitting places, huts, beautiful trees, and gardens. We will encourage every Grand Gedians Based organization to add to the building of this park as well.
